Positive Reviews

Nicely refurbished rooms.

Some of the rooms at the Metro Inns Walsall have been refurbished and these are generally found to be fairly comfortable. The rooms seem well lit and of an adequate size. Free Wi-Fi and hospitality trays are bonuses among the amenities.

Friendly staff.

While you shouldn't expect five-star service here, guests do describe the staff as friendly and reasonably attentive. The team seems happy enough to help guests with any requests during their stay and also to offer advice about the local area.

Good price.

If you’re looking for a hotel that won’t make you part with too much of your cash, this one is a good bet. Guests find the nightly rates are low and the breakfast reasonable priced. Additional value comes in the form of free Wi-Fi and parking.

Negative Reviews

Noise concerns.

It seems that it might be a good idea to pack some earplugs. Guests occasionally describe being able to hear the sound of traffic passing along Birmingham Road but plenty more comment that the inside of the hotel is noisy. Banging doors and echoes in the hallways seem to be the main culprits.

Complaints about older rooms.

While a number of the rooms at this hotel have been refurbished to a reasonably high standard, a considerable number of others are disappointing. The older rooms often attract complaints about the cleanliness and the old CRT TVs.

Lift seems to break regularly.

A fair number of guests comment that the lift in the hotel was broken. These comments are spaced out so you can only assume that it’s a regular problem. You might end up having to carry luggage upstairs.
