Positive Reviews

The hotel is set within Rhu village and guests appreciate its proximity to the water and the views of Gare Loch that are afforded to some guest rooms as well as the garden. Additionally, both Helensburgh Golf Course and the Hill House estate are only three miles away from this destination.

Lovely staff.

Guests rave about the quality of the staff at Rosslea Hall. The staff reportedly do a fantastic job of fulfilling guest requests, and they are never to be found without a smile on their faces. Pleasant and helpful, the staff at this hotel receive almost universally high marks from all that stay here.

Award-winning restaurant.

The hotel’s The Garden Rooms Restaurant is a AA Rosette award-winner, and guests report that this award-winning nature is immediately apparent upon sampling the available food. Breakfast in particular receives high praise. Additionally, for those looking for simpler cuisine, the on-site Glen Fruin Bar serves pub classics and sandwiches. Naturally, wine, cocktails and the like are also available.

Negative Reviews

Small rooms.

Guests say that the rooms at the hotel are too small for their tastes and can feel a little cramped for adults. You may have trouble stretching out and truly enjoying yourself within the confines of these rooms.

Hard beds.

A common critique from guests staying at Rosslea Hall is that the beds are uncomfortable. Specifically, a number of guests take the time to suggest that the beds are simply too hard for an adequately restful night’s sleep to be enjoyed. If you are a light sleeper or prone to being bothered by mattress quality, you may want to rethink booking a room here.

Can get noisy.

Guests suggest that noise can be a problem for certain rooms at this hotel. The rooms near the rear of the location may be disturbed as vehicles arrive. You may want to look into booking a room away from the hotel’s rear if you plan on staying at this destination.
