Positive Reviews

A quiet and pleasant location

It’s situated on a quiet, non-main road. The result is that it is very quiet at night and a good night’s sleep is virtually assured. Side rooms are particularly quiet. Rooms are kept in good order and are very clean. The price is more than reasonable. There are grocery stores nearby and you can walk to Park Montsouris. The area just feels calm, safe and relaxing.

A gourmet’s delight

Breakfast is excellent and exceeds what is offered at many larger and more expensive hotels. Later meals are of traditional French style and are equally impressive. The restaurant always seems to be busy – which is a hint at the quality to be expected – so you may need to ask the staff here to hold a table for you.

Good links

The reception people are friendly and always keen to assist guests with any query or advice on where to go and how to get there. In fact, from the Alesia Metro Station, which is a ten-minute walk away, Line 4 goes directly to Saint-Germain-des-Pres, Notre-Dame de Paris, Sacre-Coeur and the Flea Market. This line intersects with all the others, which is useful. It’s a similar walk to the bus station with direct links to Orly Airport.

Negative Reviews

Appalling Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is shockingly bad and only seems to work with any degree of reliability at ground floor level.

Small rooms and no air-con

Even by Paris standards, the room is very small indeed and there is no air-conditioning here.

Tricky access

There’s no lift here and the stairs are steep and narrow. This makes things very tricky when carrying luggage - and there's no evidence of staff assistance with this.
