About George Oxford Hotel

The George Oxford Hotel Hotel offers value accommodation in the very centre of Oxford.

All rooms are en-suite and include direct dial telephone, free Wi-Fi, colour television, hair dryer and beverage making facilities.

The George Oxford Hotel Hotel is opposite Oxford’s New Theatre. Many famous features - including the Ashmolean Museum, Bodlian Library, Botanical Gardens and Christ Church – are all just a short walk away.

Tariffs here reflect the fact that the hotel does not provide breakfast.  Guest requirements, though, are met in abundance via the many cafes in the immediate vicinity. Similarly, lunch and dinner choices are catered for at restaurants, including: Jamie’s Italian, Koi, Copa and many more.

Positive Reviews

Dreamy location

Situated here, in Oxford, ‘city of dreaming spires’; this hotel has all the facilities you might expect – except for the costly breakfast element! There are masses of cafés in the immediate area, though. The only way you notice this fact is via the, cheaper than usual, tariff! Great idea as quite a lot of folk miss out on breakfast anyway. Another ‘plus’ is … it’s very close to the railway station.

Helpful staff

Really nice and helpful and they can help with detail on tourist attractions … *there are plenty in the immediate area, so no need for expensive taxis etc; … just walk!

Good quality rooms

You might initially stand back in horror because some of the room facilities appear to be unduly dated Once you’ve recovered, you’ll see that rooms and beds are comfortable and clean … and everything that should work, does so perfectly!

Negative Reviews

‘Strange music in my ears’

There’s a noisy club next door/ in the basement so – guess what! – the racket carries on until the early hours. and there aren’t even any tunes you can hum!

Lacking style

There are many iconic attractions nearby, but rooms here are distinctly lacking in any style. Basic and cramped, they aren’t cheap either; not until you bring the excellent location into the equation!

This lack of any breakfast is a real pain/ *why don’t they at least put a fridge in the room? -but there are other negative factors: there is no lift, beds are uncomfortable, ‘facilities’ are very dated and everything feels a bit grubby!
