The Bear And Ragged Staff is a four hundred and fifty year old restored inn located in the Oxfordshire country side only fifteen minutes outside of the world famous university city.

All of the charming rooms have been renovated with modern amenities including Wi-Fi, flat screen TVs, king size beds and en-suite bathrooms.

The Bear And Ragged Staff offers space for a variety of events, from conferences to weddings. The outdoor decking area and garden are a great place to relax while children can enjoy the playground.

Originally a country pub, the Bear And Ragged Staff now serves highly acclaimed British food inspired by local Oxfordshire produce alongside it’s large selection of wines, spirits and real ales.

In Oxford itself guests can spend the day punting on the river, visiting the esteemed Ashmolean museum or exploring the university’s iconic architecture. It is also a short drive to Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Winston Churchill.

If you're looking for a decent Sunday roast this is a great place to start. The restaurant is very well reviewed and widely considered one of the best in the area. The beautiful presentation gives the place that extra touch of class and the bar has a great selection of wines and beers!

Charming atmosphere

The owners have created a comfortable and contemporary hotel without losing the charm and feel of the original sixteenth century inn. The remaining Tudor beams and the fireplace in the bar give real character to the décor and guests love the little touches like fresh milk in the rooms for tea.
