Positive Reviews

Top rated restaurant

If you're looking for a decent Sunday roast this is a great place to start. The restaurant is very well reviewed and widely considered one of the best in the area. The beautiful presentation gives the place that extra touch of class and the bar has a great selection of wines and beers!

Warm, child friendly staff

The staff here are welcoming and attentive. If you need help navigating the area or some local tips for places to visit then they are happy to help. Several parents have also said that they are great for accommodating children.

Charming atmosphere

The owners have created a comfortable and contemporary hotel without losing the charm and feel of the original sixteenth century inn. The remaining Tudor beams and the fireplace in the bar give real character to the décor and guests love the little touches like fresh milk in the rooms for tea.

Negative Reviews

Breakfast could be better

While reviews for lunch and dinner are generally great, guests have found the breakfast buffet to be somewhat underwhelming and lacking in variety.

Restaurant service can be slow

The restaurant is very popular with both hotel guests and diners but as a result the service can be slow during busier times.

Minor issues don't detract

Guests felt that their room could have done with a more thorough dusting and that the stairs to the upper floors are difficult to get up. It is also worth noting that there is not much in the way of nearby public transport links.
