Positive Reviews

Outstandingly Refurbished

This castle – once a derelict property – has recently been bought up, refurbished and reincarnated as a luxury boutique hotel. Those guests who knew the property in its former state are particularly impressed by this transformation. Both the grounds and the interior of the building have been refitted to the highest standard, making this property a top choice among guests looking for a romantic weekend break or a wedding venue.

Boutique, Bespoke Units

It may only have nine units, but those staying at this boutique hotel had great things to say about their experience here. Units managed to be both cosy and spacious, with each room boasting its very own bespoke décor. Luxury is the keyword here, with every unit boasting period furniture and full-length mirrors as well as sweeping views of the grounds. As mod cons go, the underfloor heating is a real treat.

Warm Welcomes, Superb Food

Overall, this hotel makes an excellent first impression. Those walking up to the property reported that they were swiftly greeted by the hotel's front-of-house team. This truly helped to raise the overall profile of this property. In terms of dining options, the food and drink here come highly praised. This property serves up delectable lunches and afternoon teas, but many also lauded it for its selection of whiskies.

Negative Reviews

Some Customer Service Blips

Outside of the reception team, there were, sadly, some customer service blips to report at this property. These seemed to be prevalent in the hotel's booking and dining teams. Guests coming to the property for afternoon tea arrived to find that their bookings had not been made while those staying at the hotel reported that they had trouble attracting the attention of breakfast staff. These points detracted from the hotel's overall excellence.
