Positive Reviews

Beautiful and quiet setting for a peaceful getaway.

This is this place to stay if you're looking to be somewhere you can go to get away from everything. You'll appreciate the trails that continuously lead to more scenic Dorset views, and the tranquillity that comes from the immediate surroundings.

Hearty and tasty food from breakfast to dessert.

Breakfast at The Brace of Pheasants is a big hit, showing off culinary skills and the owners' appreciation for every guest. Menu options are lovely and filling, prepared deliciously, and well worth the pricing. Up to and including desserts, having meals h

Lovely rooms with cosy and charming ambiance.

The ambiance of a quaint holiday is evident on the inside. Simple designs and colours blend with comfortable textures, and create the perfect place for cosiness. You'll particularly feel it in the colder weather, when you're having a warm drink by the log

Negative Reviews

Pub rooms have steps that are tiring to climb.

If steps are a concern for you, request a room in the skittle alley annex. The rooms above the pub in the main wing require steep stairs, which are tiring for mobility and for carrying luggage.

Wear and tear makes the rooms a bit overpriced.

Some find the décor and the furnishings too tattered and worn for a 4-star rating, and for the rates of the rooms. A greater effort should be made to update some aesthetics and fixtures, and to increase the level of deeper cleaning.

Difficult to maintain a steady mobile reception.

Keep in mind that mobile signals are unreliable out here in such a rural environment. This can create some difficulty in reaching staff before check-in if necessary, or in staying in touch with others while you're away.
