Positive Reviews

Ideally situated for exploring Dorset.

With its location set back from the A37, mid-way between Yeovil and Dorchester, all the attractions and coastal beauty that Dorset has to offer are within easy reach. The hotel, itself, enjoys beautiful views across the Dorset Downs from many of the rooms

Well designed and equipped.

The hotel was purpose-built and, for most of its guests, it shows. It has a light, airy feel and is decorated to a high standard with excellent quality fixtures and fittings in common areas and guest rooms. Sound insulation in rooms is fantastic- a common

Friendly, consistent service.

One big plus for most guests is the customer service given by staff at the George Albert, they are consistently friendly. Need fresh milk for the room? Luggage stored? Just ask. Staff are more than happy to help with the little things.

Negative Reviews

Unappealing exterior.

The hotel has been described as 'unappealing' from the outside and, with the attached large car park, not unlike a service station. Thankfully, previous guests insist the interior is another story entirely.

Isolated location.

You will need your own transport if you plan to leave the hotel during your stay. The hotel is fairly isolated and there is nothing in the near vicinity, according to reviews. If you wish to dine outside the hotel a little forethought may be required, how

Somewhat limited menu.

The bar menu is somewhat limited, with a heavy bias towards cold dishes. The restaurant menu, on the other hand, is more extensive, but options for vegetarians are reportedly few and far between.
