Positive Reviews

Perfect Canterbury location

Surrounded by acres of trees, shrubs and wildlife, the hotel is superbly situated, being just a few minutes safe walk from the centre of Canterbury.

Clean and comfortable

In this impersonal world where things tend to be rather ‘samey’ and of dubious standard, this is a great hotel with a personality all its own. All the needs of today’s traveller combine with the charms of yesteryear to provide a memorable visit.

Easy, free, parking

Not to be sniffed at, parking can be an arduous and expensive hurdle to climb. It’s free and plentiful here – and a real, if not, obvious bonus for guests.

Negative Reviews

Canterbury Catering Tales of the unexpected!

It’s let down by catering standards – and costs – really You’re welcome to the Restaurant (!) where, although the length of time waiting for your meal might be spent salivating over the thought of things to come, don’t bother. The result is disappointing to say the least. Also, tomorrow, prepare for more tales of the unexpected when faced with the cost of breakfast!

Distracting extractor

The food preparation process carries with it a noisy extractor fan. Seemingly, this starts early afternoon and continues through till the end of restaurant service. The following morning and just in time for early breakfasts, here we go, yet again!

Barring disasters

Bar snacks are nothing to write home about and room service seems to be locked in to a time warp of infinite proportions All in all, it's a bit of a let down.
