Quaint and charming old guesthouse; good location

Guests find The Old House in Braintree, UK, a lovely place. Its old style is appealing with the quaint crooked walls, slanting floors, Jacobean oak panelling and inglenook fireplaces adding to the appeal. The entire building is a delight and guests say that the details of its age have been preserved beautifully. Guests find its proximity to the town centre and Freeport shopping handy. A lovely Victorian park is right behind the guesthouse.

Lovely and bright rooms

The garden room on the first floor and four poster room on the ground floor are fantastic say guests. They have a lovely and relaxing time in the bright rooms with en suite bathrooms. Guests enjoy the delightful garden views and the conveniences such as the coffee and tea making facilities. The rooms are located away from the main road, so they are devoid of traffic noise.

Hospitable owner; excellent breakfast in lounge

Guests talk highly about the hospitality of the owner. Breakfast is served in the lounge with its enormous fireplace, lovely decor of oak beams and panelling, and comfortable settees. The full English breakfast with a variation for vegetarians is deliciously prepared from locally sourced produce and ingredients and guests find the items to be of an excellent quality. Guests say they will definitely re-visit the guesthouse for its warm welcome, delightful clean surroundings and fabulous breakfasts.
