The Thireas Hotel Hotel is a short walk from the centre of Fira and provides dramatic volcano views.
The seven en-suite rooms, in this former traditional villa, have a balcony with views to the sea, town or volcano. Air conditioning, satellite TV, minibar and telephone are also included.
There is an outdoor hot tub for the use of guests and free Wi-Fi in the communal areas. Further services include: concierge, airport shuttle service, parking, car hire, laundry and dry cleaning, safety deposit box, ATM machine and luggage storage.
Breakfast at the Thireas Hotel Hotel is served in an attractive setting with sea and caldera views. There are many restaurants for later dining. These include Aroma Avlis, Theoni’s Kitchen and Naoussa Tavern.
Popular activities include boat excursions and visits to Artemis Karamolegos Winery. The hotel will assist with advice and arrangements if required.
Even during the low season, staff members work ‘flat-out' to ensure that you receive top value. They are always very friendly and helpful - they even help transport your luggage to the room; a rare occurrence in many top of the range hotels. The hotel, throughout, appears to be clean and well maintained.
A super location.
The sea and caldera views are incredible and sunsets don't come any better than those as seen from the (beautiful) rooftop garden and pool. This is a beautiful setting and yet it's only a 10-minute walk to the centre of Fira.
Served in your room, breakfast is really appetising ... and a leisurely way to start planning the day ahead.
One step at a time.
Remember the thriller, ‘The 39 Steps'? Well there's got to be many more than those here, starting with those leading down to the hotel itself. These steps are a potential problem for the elderly and infirm - and for the super-fit, carrying luggage! They aren't the safest area for young, unsupervised kids either.
Some rooms have a lovely balcony - others don't. Some are quiet and secluded - others are overlooked and with privacy issues.
Hot and cold points (bed) spring to mind.
There' a strange ‘echo' type sound throughout the building. Yes, breakfast is good, but it's the same every day and only served at 8.30 am; useless if you want an early start. The shower doesn't run at a constant temperature. First I's hot and then it runs cold. *Thermostat problem? Mattresses are hard and uncomfortable.
