The Scotsman Hotel

The award-winning five star Scotsman Hotel in Edinburgh is located in the former Scotsman newspaper building. The restoration in 2001 has preserved the wooden panelled reception area, which is now a bar and brasserie, and the former printing press room in the basement is now a fitness room. The hotel has 69 rooms graded as study, deluxe, editor, publisher/director suites, baron suite and penthouse. Each room or suite is individually designed around many of the original features. All rooms have broadband, modem and wifi comms facilities, satellite TV, minibar and courtesy tray and room safe. Wifi is available throughout the hotel. It is non-smoking. There is 24 hour room service and a concierge is available for help and advice. The North Bridge Brasserie in the Victorian former reception hall focuses on Scottish cuisine with a modern twist and can also be hired for private dining.
