Positive Reviews
positive:
Appealing location
The location of this hotel has generally proved popular with guests. Although some would have preferred to be just a little closer to the CBD, most have enjoyed the Chippenham neighbourhood and found most Sydney attractions within easy reach - both the city centre and iconic beaches take no more than 30 minutes to reach.
positive:
Great rooms
Rooms here are not only pleasing to the eye but also offer clean surroundings where guests can relax. The design of the rooms tends to be quite hip and guests have appreciated the individual touches as well as the standard comforts such as the free Wi-Fi.
positive:
Good range of facilities
Previous guests have been impressed with the range of facilities, so it's unlikely that you'll find yourself short of anything here. The pool and restaurant often attract particular praise although you'll generally find all facilities are of a high standard.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Occasional service-related issues
The staff here is typically great but they don't get it right all the time. Reviews suggest that the initial reception could be more welcoming at times. Plus, the bar staff in the Kensington Street Social (managed separately from the hotel) don't always impress.
negative:
Surroundings can be noisy
You can reasonably expect a bit of noise here. Guests have been able to hear traffic and the usual hustle and bustle from the street but also note that the internal soundproofing could be much improved.
negative:
Unusual bathroom design
The bathroom design in at least some of the rooms has caused a few raised eyebrows. Guests mention that their shower was open plan and the toilet was clearly visible from most parts of the rooms. This won't suit everyone.
