    Great Western is smack dab in the middle of Oban esplanade where you can walk to the beach, shops, restaurants, bars and lots of popular tourist destinations.

    A warm, personable staff is at the ready and happy to accommodate most any request. The concierge can point you in the direction of great places to eat and all the local entertainments and even regale you with the history of your surroundings.

    The views go on forever and seem to change with the hour depending on which way the wind blows. And if you upgrade to a room with a balcony, you’ll be able to enjoy your own personal slice of beauty without having to leave your room.

    They have an early check-out.

    Check-out time is 10:00 am which makes for an early start and not a lot of time at the hotel, as check in isn’t until 3:00 pm. If you are only there for one night, this makes for a very short stay.

    The food at the hotel’s restaurant is hit or miss. Sometimes hot food is served cold and sometimes it’s overcooked. Also, at times, the service leaves something to be desired. But luckily, there are lots of other restaurants just outside your door from wh
