Positive Reviews
positive:
Leave the car behind.
After the five-minute drive from the airport, you are able to forego driving for a stroll to many local restaurants, museums and main attractions. The Colony Palms is also close to downtown Palm Springs, but secluded enough to feel like you aren't near the hustle and bustle of business.
positive:
Delicious indoor and outdoor dining.
The Purple Palm Restaurant and Bar is a hit with many guests, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. Menu options include a personalized omelet feature, tapas menu, and fresh seafood. Enjoy a cocktail by the pool, or partake in free morning coffee.
positive:
Friendly staff add to your stay.
Guests felt their visit was more memorable because of courteous staff members. From smiling bartenders to an accommodating front desk staff, the friendly vibe impressed guests. A General Manager could often be seen walking around asking guests if they were enjoying their stay.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Busy pool area during high season.
The 24-hour pool area can be busy and lacking in pool chairs, according to some guests. During the hotter months, you might find the pool and hot tub to be not as clean as you would like due to the crowds.
negative:
Smaller than expected rooms.
Smaller rooms with small windows made for a dark desert experience for some guests in certain rooms. Many guests found the bathrooms to give ample space, but were disappointed in the size of the sleeping area.
negative:
Lack of elevator.
The absence of an elevator proved to be a problem for a few guests who stayed at the Colony Palms. While there is a porter available to assist with luggage, walking the stairs could be a problem if you have mobility issues.
