Summerhill has a real homely feel to it, as if you're actually staying in someone's house. The staff here are always friendly and make you feel welcomed from the moment you step inside the door.

Located just away from the town centre and beach, this hotel is in a quiet neighbourhood and it makes for a very tranquil setting. Still, if you want to check out the shops and Victorian pier they are still within easy reach by foot.

The level of cleanliness in this hotel is very hard to fault. Everything is kept in incredibly good condition and there is not a speck of dust to be seen. Even all the communal areas are kept neatly arranged.

If the hotel is full the kitchen staff can find it a little hard to cope. Perhaps the kitchen is not big enough to deal with the amount of orders coming in, and you might end up waiting a while for your food.

The walls between the rooms here are thin, so chances are you'll hear what's going on in the room next to you. A little extra soundproofing here and there would make a world of difference.

Summerhill is situated on quite hilly terrain, perched on a headland separating two beaches. It can get quite steep when wandering the streets surrounding the hotel, so if you're not feeling very fit it might be worth staying downhill in the town.
