The hotel is nestled within the picturesque Exmoor National Park, far away from the hustle and bustle much to the delight of many who stayed here. There are numerous nature trails and walks in close proximity to the hotel making it an ideal place for those who prefer to spend their time in the great outdoors.

Guests were pleased to find that the size of their rooms exceeded their expectations as they said they had plenty of space to move around in between the furniture as well as to stow away their belongings. Most of the rooms command picture-postcard views but especially those at the front of the building which overlook the Barle Valley.

Guests who dined at the hotel were very complimentary about the quality of the food and were particularly impressed with the fact that most ingredients are locally sourced. Dishes were described as being full of flavour whilst the menus varied and extensive.
