Positive Reviews
positive:
Comfortable rooms with a view
The rooms are generally described as clean and bright, with comfortable, traditional furnishings and plenty of space. Families and guests staying for an extended period particularly appreciate that the kitchenettes are well equipped. While rooms on the upper floors offer the nicest views of the Atlantic, guests on the lowest floor enjoy walking directly out onto the beach.
positive:
Outstanding staff
Positive reviews for the reception and housekeeping team highlight their cheerful, helpful service, smiling faces, and willingness to "go the extra mile" to make everyone feel welcome. The chef at the new Touch of Italy restaurant off the lobby receives many compliments, as do the friendly, attentive wait staff.
positive:
Convenient location
Guests appreciate being steps away from the beach and boardwalk area, with all of its shops, restaurants, and amusement park attractions. Many guests also consider the hotel's location outside the boardwalk's chief "party" zone to be a great plus.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A crowded pool..
Several guests note that the outdoor pool is a little small given the hotel's size, and so it fills up quickly with excited kids and grown-ups at the swim-up bar. Unfortunately, these two groups do not always peacefully co-exist. Some guests also note that there is little security at the pool area, and were irritated to find non-hotel guests walking in to enjoy the amenities.
negative:
Not aging gracefully..
Several guests note that the room decor is dated. Worn carpets, peeling wallpaper, and aged kitchen appliances have also been reported. A few guests also saw room for improvement in housekeeping.
negative:
Nobody's perfect..
A few guests have caught staff "on a bad day", or did not feel their concerns were addressed effectively.
