Guests appreciate the hotel's location, which is just far enough out of the city centre to allow for quieter nights and more affordable rates, but close enough that guests can walk to the Aldstadt in about 30 minutes. Guests generally agree that the walk along the Rhine is very pleasant, and the hotel is also well connected by trams and U-Bahn. Taxis are also an inexpensive option. The Messe Dusseldorf exhibition centre is also conveniently nearby for corporate travellers.

While most guests describe standard rooms as sparkling clean and spacious, with comfortable beds and powerful showers, guests who opt for suites or Business Class rooms generally agree that they provide particularly good value, as these rooms include the popular Super Breakfast Buffet, which is not inexpensive purchased separately. Some rooms on the upper floors offer a view of the river.

Most guests give the front desk team rave reviews for their personable and professional customer service, commenting often on their smiling faces and their willingness to answer questions, recommend restaurants, and resolve issues cheerfully and efficiently.

Though most guests find the free Wi-Fi to be reasonably fast and reliable, a few found the opposite to be true, perhaps due to the number of guests using the service.

Some guests experienced a long wait for the elevators, particularly when the hotel is hosting a conference and big groups of people are following a fairly consistent schedule. However, the staff elevators are made available on these occasions and of course, there are always the stairs.

Though most guests are pleased with the customer service and the hotel restaurant, a small group has had negative experiences with one or the other.
