Multiple guests have reported that the food at the on-site restaurant, the Hooded Merganser, is very good and provides excellent value. This restaurants overlooks the lake, as well, and guests enjoyed spending time there.

Past guests have said that this hotel is old and dated. The carpets in the lobby appear as though they are decades old and the rooms are starting to look their age. Guests feel as though a thorough renovation should be in order for this hotel.

There have been complaints about noise from the Barking Parrot Pub making its way into the rooms at night. This pub turns into a nightclub and often features musical acts, so there is a fair amount of noise present, especially on weekends.

Guests have complained that even though this property is marketed as a resort and has a number of amenities, it doesn't have a resort feel to it. This is perhaps because the building is old and tired, or it could be because everything is so spread out around the property.
