The hotel offers a unique, budget-friendly stay, distinguished by its homemade food and the stunning mountain and valley views available from many rooms, particularly those with balconies. This establishment is primarily run by a family, which contributes to a distinct, often homely atmosphere for guests. It is an ideal choice for budget travelers, families, couples, and solo travelers seeking an affordable base with a personal touch. While many guests praise the exceptional service and the family's dedication to customer satisfaction, a significant number report highly negative interactions with staff, citing rudeness and unhelpfulness. To maximize your experience, it is highly recommended to book a room with a view, as some non-balcony rooms may lack proper ventilation, and be prepared for limited hot water availability in the mornings.
Facilities & Amenities
The hotel provides several key amenities, though some come with notable limitations. Wi-Fi facilities are available and crucial, as mobile network connectivity can be poor due to the hotel's location. Guests appreciate the complimentary pick-up service from the local bus stop, and the availability of taxi services for sightseeing, often accompanied by informative guides. However, a significant drawback is the severely restricted hot water availability, typically limited to a single hour in the morning, which many guests find inconvenient. Parking is also a concern, as the hotel lacks dedicated spaces, often relying on roadside arrangements. There is no lift, requiring guests to use stairs, and while some reviews mention room service, others indicate it is inconsistent or unavailable. Some rooms also report issues with showers not working.
Cleanliness & Room Comfort
Guest feedback on room comfort and cleanliness is mixed, yet detailed. Many guests report spotless and clean rooms, often highlighting the comfortable beds and well-equipped spaces. Some rooms offer spacious layouts and beautiful nature views from balconies, enhancing the overall experience. However, a notable number of reviews describe rooms as untidy upon arrival, with instances of used towels, unemptied bins, and unpleasant odors. Some rooms, particularly those without a view, are criticized for being small, congested, and lacking proper ventilation or windows, leading to a suffocating feel. Additionally, some guests found the bathroom to be very small and congested, and in some cases, the shower was not functional.
Dining & Food Quality
The hotel receives overwhelmingly positive feedback regarding its dining options, particularly the homemade food prepared by the family. Guests consistently praise the delicious and hygienic quality of meals, often describing them as reminiscent of home-cooked food. The hotel offers Maharashtrian lunch or dinner upon advance order, with many highlighting specific dishes like aloo paratha and Puran Poli thali on festival days. While there is no traditional restaurant on-site, the ability to order food directly to the room is a significant convenience. Breakfast is also noted as good and affordable. Guests appreciate the flexibility of food service hours, which extend late into the evening, allowing for orders like tea even at night.
Location & Accessibility
The hotel's location is generally considered a significant advantage, offering excellent accessibility to key areas. It is conveniently situated within a short walking distance of the main market and the local bus stand, typically 5-10 minutes away. This central positioning allows guests easy access to shopping, dining, and public transportation for exploring the area. The hotel is described as being on the valley side, contributing to the scenic views. While most guests find the location beneficial, a few express concerns about the surrounding roads being poorly lit and feeling unsafe, particularly at night. Parking is available, though it is limited and often involves roadside arrangements, with the owner assisting in finding spots.
Staff & Service
Feedback on staff and service is highly polarized, presenting a stark contrast in guest experiences. Many guests commend the exceptional service, describing the staff, particularly the family running the hotel, as polite, humble, gentle, kind, and supportive. These positive reviews highlight their willingness to "go above and beyond," providing immediate responses, helpful sightseeing guidance, and treating guests "like family." Conversely, a substantial number of reviews report extremely negative interactions, citing staff as arrogant, unprofessional, indifferent, rude, unhelpful, and dismissive. Guests recount issues with a slow check-in process, refusal of basic requests like extra towels or late checkout, and a perceived lack of respect or accountability from the management.
Additional Information
This hotel operates more like a homestay, being primarily run by a family who often resides on the ground floor, contributing to a unique, personal atmosphere. Guests should be aware that due to the hotel's mountain-side location, mobile network connectivity can be an issue, making the provided Wi-Fi a crucial amenity. Interestingly, guests note that air conditioning is not needed even in summer, thanks to the natural climate. The hotel offers specific room types, such as those in the B-wing, which are recommended for their superior nature views. While toiletries are not standard, they can be provided upon request.
