About The Tides Lodge

The Tides Lodge is located on the magnificent Ushongo beach, which has been voted “One of the World’s best beaches” by The Sunday Times Travel Magazine. Designed as the ultimate destination for relaxation, guests can choose to unwind on their veranda or balcony, swim in the pool or stretch out on the pristine sands. The lodge itself is deliberately low key and relaxed, yet offering the best levels of service and cuisine. The Tides Lodge is set on the idyllic, palm fringed and secluded Ushongo beach on the northern coastline of Tanzania near Pangani. The beach is deserted with no crowds and no troublesome beach hustlers, giving the guests the feeling of tranquillity and exclusivity. Guests can walk for miles each way from the lodge along the deserted beach passing only the occasional friendly local fisherman. Just offshore is the Maziwe Marine reserve with the magical Maziwe island, a sandbank that only emerges at low tide and which is one of the most amazing snorkelling and diving spots in Tanzania.
