Salisbury Green is a truly top-quality, distinctive and elegant location for your next break or event. Set in beautiful surroundings close to the heart of the city, and part of the University of Edinburgh, Salisbury Green will deliver style and comfort to its guests. The interior design has been carefully developed to reflect the atmosphere and the history of the building and its architecture, and our 36 en-suite bedrooms exude richness and quality. The original house at Salisbury Green was built for an Edinburgh Merchant, Alexander Scott, in the 1750s, and its supporting walls are still encased within the existing building. The conversion which was carried out in 2006 changed the student residence to a fine Hotel and Conference Centre. The refurbishment of the building has transformed it into a magnificent venue.

You will find the location to be very convenient for Edinburgh, located a 20-minute walk from the old town and the Royal Mile — or an even quicker trip by bus. People also appreciated being next door to Holyrood Park and Arthur’s Seat and said the free parking was also a plus.
Guests considered the old mansion to be a charming and beautiful thing, with lots of details, quirks and personality, while the rooms were found to be clean, quiet, spacious and comfortable.
A few of those who stayed at Salisbury Green would have liked to have had a lift to help with luggage, and while this seemed to only be a minor issue, those who are not so mobile should keep this in mind.
The modern interior of the rooms were not what some guests were expecting given the appearance of the exterior, while this university-run hotel is part of a campus complex, has its reception next door and a few people said it did not have the boutique feel they were expecting.
