Hotel The Palace of the Lost City (Sun-City, South Africa)

The Palace of the Lost City set out to amaze in its appearance and its atmosphere which it certainly still does. From the buildings and grounds to the interior décor and the facilities, it is a luxurious experience staying at the hotel.

The hotel as well as Sun City in general has something virtually for everyone, from the health spa and salon services to the game drives and wave pools. The Palace is extremely family friendly with plenty of kids' activities as well as special menu items in some of the restaurants. It is just as well suited to business trips or romantic breaks as well.

The staff in all areas of the hotel are very attentive and helpful and there are several possibilities of having specific services afforded to you if you only ask, for example birthday or anniversary surprises.

Although there is wireless internet connection available in all areas, the rooms are limited to one device and a certain amount of data per day. Wi-Fi is however available and free in the lobby as well.

Compared to the quality and variety available in some of the restaurants, particularly at breakfast, there have been comments of the prices not quite being proportional.

The hotel may have started to show its age in some areas, for example some of the furniture and décor as well as a few of the outdoor activities. Certain services such as the valet and shuttle services to the rest of the Sun City Resort could also use attention as far as speed and efficiency.
