Many hotels in this price bracket have rooms that are more like boxes than rooms. But at this hotel the rooms are spacious and clean which is a nice surprise. This makes a stay at this hotel pretty good value for money.
Don’t expect fine cuisine when staying here but if you like decent pub grub then you won’t feel disappointed. The fare on offer is what you would expect from a good pub and the portions are more than enough.
The hotel was probably once a fine establishment, but unfortunately, the years have taken their toll and you can see that the décor has suffered. It needs to be redecorated and possibly the whole place needs a refurb, but this doesn’t take away from the value of staying here.
The rooms are spacious enough but perhaps because of their size, they don’t really get the thorough cleaning that they should. It’s a bit of a letdown for many guests as otherwise the rooms are fine.
The continental that is on offer each morning isn’t really enough for the most important meal of the day and if you are expecting a cooked breakfast then you may feel disappointed. It’s not terrible, just not enough.
