The Steigenberger Al Dau Beach Hotel is very highly praised by the majority of commentators, with the staff being particularly mentioned. This is a very large and well run hotel, it is sufficiently spacious, to give plenty of room for guests, even when the hotel is full, so that one does not have to get up at the crack of dawn to place a towel on a sun-bed to reserve it.
Cleanliness throughout the hotel is commended, including the pool, and it is described as being a place where all ages are able to enjoy themselves. The rooms on the ground floor are the nearest to the pool.
The food was found to be generally very good with few exceptions.
There are a number of items of maintenance that had been overlooked: dirty curtains, broken marble, plumbing and a safe box not working properly.
Praise of nearly all aspects of this hotel is almost unanimous in guests' reports. It was surprising to read the sole report that stated that everywhere was dirty, including cutlery, glassware, rooms and bathrooms, and that the staff were untrained and rude. One wonders if the writer was thinking of somewhere else.
