Basement apartments have a private outdoor area. The apartments are non-smoking and public parking is available nearby. A wide range of bars and restaurants can be found within a short walk, as well as a couple of supermarkets. Southside Apartments by Destination is located 1.3 miles away from Edinburgh Castle, and less than half an hour’s drive from Edinburgh Airport.

Those who stayed at Southside Apartments said their lodgings were spacious, warm and furnished with everything they could need, including a quality kitchen, washing machine and even two bathrooms in some apartments.
The staff here reportedly proved to be friendly and responsive when guests requested assistance. On top of this, people were happy with what they considered an all round decent price, especially when they could save money by cooking at home.
Guests mentioned that they were situated within an easy walking distance of the University, Arthur's Seat, pubs, restaurants and supermarkets. Those who were up for a slightly longer stroll said it took about 20 minutes to get downtown, or mentioned they could have just as easily taken the bus.
Some of those who stayed at Southside Apartments were disappointed to find there was no private parking on offer, with luck needed to find a public park on the busy road outside. Furthermore, other guests occasionally mentioned that the Wi-Fi connection was poor.
A small number of those who chose to stay here mentioned that furniture like the couches in the lounge were not particularly comfortable. Furthermore, a few people thought that some refurbishment could be used, purely on aesthetic grounds, but most people did not seem to be too bothered.
