Hotel Parco dei Principi (Sorrento, Italy)

Guests can’t say enough about the amazing views from the property. Those lucky enough to have a balcony or large window facing the sea highly recommend it and say if you can swing it, it’s well worth the splurge. The dining room looks out onto the sea as well, and the hotel’s grounds are lush with gardens.

Many guests come here specifically for the private beach. Set on rocks and accessed by a tunnel dug into rocks, the beach is equipped with complementary loungers and umbrellas and there’s a snack bar that serves food and drinks.

The hotel's design is the work of a famous Italian architect, and his vision is on display everywhere on the property from the pool to the gardens. Most rooms feature the original design and are very contemporary and graphic. Many guests say they appreciate the hotel’s uniqueness and enjoy the flashback to the 60s.

Brides and grooms love this hotel and it’s very popular for weddings that can sometimes consume much of the property. Some guests complain that access to areas of the hotel can be limited if there are groups. It can also get noisy at night when functions are going on.

If you’re looking for nightlife and entertainment you may be disappointed here. Most guests enjoy the atmosphere or go into Sorrento for the evening. The hotel provides shuttle service until 9:30pm but some guests opt to stay out later and walk the 20-minutes back to the hotel or take a taxi.

The property is much the same as it was when redesigned in the early 60s except for some upgrades and repairs. Those who are architecturally inclined may be disappointed by some of the changes made over the years and some say the place needs some TLC.
