At the wetlands of Ahla in Andros, nature has created a place of unique beauty and biodiversity. Part of Natura 2000, the largest network of protected areas in EU, offers a heaven to Europe's most valuable and threatened species and habitats. It is in this magical place where the river meets the sea that Onar Andros was created. Ten traditional insular cottages, spread through the lush greenery, compose a small settlement surrounded by an organic farm. A heaven on earth, where huge plane trees, crystal waters and wild flora meet - a unique landscape for the standards of Cyclades able to amaze even the most demanding nature fans. The cottages are built exclusively with natural local materials and have sitting room, bathroom, bedroom, kitchenette and a paved courtyard sheltered by a pergola. Large windows allow the daylight in, provide coolness during summer nights and give the sense of being outdoors. Minimal furniture and details in white and earthy colors are harmoniously combined. Onar in Greek means “dream” and to the owners this is a dream that has come true. It is in this dream that the hosts invite visitors to come and experience an alternative way of living.
