Positive Reviews
positive:
Easy access to Verona.
The old town of Verona is within walking distance, however, if you'd rather not walk, there is a bus stop close to the hotel with several buses heading in that direction. If you have chosen to drive, the hotel offers free parking in their underground garage.
positive:
Staff on hand 24/7.
Multilingual staff are on hand 24-hours a day to assist guests and most find them to be both professional and attentive. In particular, the reception and restaurant teams are said to be second to none, and more than happy to give directions or answer any questions you may have during your stay.
positive:
A cut above the usual breakfast.
With the standard Italian breakfast usually consisting of a coffee and a pastry, the complimentary buffet breakfast at Maxim is a welcome surprise for most guests. The bakery and pastry selections come highly recommended.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Dated in places.
Most guests suggest that rooms are spacious, comfortable and immaculately clean, however, some have said that the hotel, on a whole, is beginning to look dated. You may spot fraying carpets, old fashioned furniture and flaking paint in places, although most find the hotel excellent value for money, regardless.
negative:
Lacking some essentials.
While there is a bar and lounge on-site, there is currently no option for dining in-house (other than breakfast). There are, apparently, two restaurants nearby and numerous others within a short walk but, if your idea of a perfect evening involves room service, you will be disappointed.
negative:
Free Wi-Fi limited, must pay to upgrade.
Maxim does offer free access to limited Wi-Fi, however, for those who need to do more than just check emails, it may be inadequate. You can upgrade the service for an additional fee.
