Hotel Marski by Scandic (Helsinki, Finland)

It would be harder to find a hotel that has a more central location to this in Helsinki with the main railway station just a short walk away and within the immediate vicinity of the hotel there are so many shops, bars and restaurants that you are spoiled for choice and the port is also within very easy walking distance should you be travelling by ferry.

You will always be greeted with smiling staff who look like they do genuinely enjoy their job and who will stop at nothing to ensure that your every need is catered for during your stay with nothing too much trouble for them and they speak excellent English which is always a big help.

Housekeeping do a really good job of ensuring that your rooms I kept clean and tidy as it is always pleasurable to come back to a room which looks and smells nice after being out all day on business or sightseeing and in addition the rooms are quite spacious with plenty of room to move around.

The hotel décor and the fixtures and fittings is starting to look rather worn and quite tired in places with damage to flooring and just very old in general and a major refurbishment is needed according to reports from previous guests.

Although temperatures don't always get too high in this part of the world it is still nice to have air conditioning in rooms which works effectively, but it doesn't here and if you open the window to let some fresh air then you may hear lot of noise from the busy streets.

The breakfast area gets really busy and at times it is difficult to find somewhere to sit and eat no matter what time you are there.
