Guests found the accommodation at Mackenzies Highland Inn to at least offer a cheap option for the area, without too many pretensions, and the staff were considered to be a friendly bunch.

You will find the inn’s location to be great for exploring Aviemore by foot and the railway station is also a short walk away, while it will put you very close to the Cairngorms for getting out for skiing or walking expeditions.

Those who ventured into the pub recommended the pub grub, breakfasts and beer, while the live music, pool table and Sky TV channels were also appreciated.

The state of Mackenzies Highland Inn has been found to be on the dire side, and guests thought rooms to be in need of maintenance and redecoration, with mould, dirty carpets, grubby walls, dodgy door handles reported, as well as loose banisters on the stairs.

Some guests mentioned that the rooms reflected the price, and described the rooms as dark, basic and small, while the family rooms seem to feature bunk beds. A few people were very unhappy, left and were still charged.

The mattresses have been found to be uncomfortable by some, with the main complaint being that you can sometimes feel the springs.
