Hotel Lunheim in Geiranger (Geiranger, Norway)

Lunheim Accomodation*** lies 290 metres above sea level, just 3 km up above the Geiranger fjord, and 50 metres below the Hotel Utsikten ***. Our guests enjoy a perhaps unsurpassed view of these magnificent mountains and of the inner three kilometres of the fjord from the serenity of our garden. The Flydalsjuvet viewpoint is a 5 minutes walk away, and a 360 degree view of the whole of the Geiranger fjord valley can actually be found only ten minutes away from our courtyard. Our guests fill a thermos,pack their sandwiches and can easily walk from our courtyard and out to five of the quietest hill walks in Geiranger. Lunheim is a good base for day trips to the Jostedal Glacier, to Lom, to the Trollstigen road, to the Atlantic road and to Ålesund. Our garden is at your disposal all year, and guests will often enjoy a quiet cup of tea, a barbecue, or a conversation over a glass of wine in the late evening. Our altitude above sea level gives us more sun hours than can be expected down in the bottom of the valley. Sunset at 22:30 - 23:30 in June-July. August sunset is at 21:00 and February will bring us dawn at 08:00 and dusk at 16:30 -17:30 We offer our guests merely peaceful surroundings and excellent bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. We have good hiking maps, snow pants,& all weather jackets. Our snowshoes and ski poles allow our winter guests to explore paths and views which would otherwise be inaccessible,and we have some good sledges. Our upstairs guests share a comfortable and well equipped scandinavian kitchen with a large fridge, dishwasher, freezer etc. Our budget apartment guests have a good bedroom, their own kitchenette of course, and an external bathroom.
