Hotel Leonardo (Pisa, Italy)

The Hotel Leonardo is set in central Pisa. Guests find the accommodation at the hotel convenient in order to get around the compact city. It is located just around the corner from the airport. So even with a night arrival, a quick trip to the Leaning Tower is possible as it only a short walk from the hotel. The Pisa Station is also only 15 minutes’ walk. Guests find that they can cover the city and see the many sights like Church of San Frediano, Knight’s Square and Pisa Royal Palace, and also spend enjoyable shopping hours at Pisa’s main shopping area as the hotel is centrally located to all these places.

The rooms at the hotel are well maintained with good facilities, all at an affordable price. There are 27 rooms in total, all equipped with television, safe and refrigerator. The bathrooms have a shower and free towels and hair dryers. Room service is provided.

The hotel has a helpful concierge. Formalities such as check-in and check-out are handled speedily and tips for a tour of the city supplemented by maps are handed out by the friendly and multilingual staff. Complimentary buffet breakfast is available. Many restaurants are close to the hotel for guests to dine. Wi-Fi facility is free of charge in public areas.

Many of the hotel amenities are lacking, which is a disappointment for guests. There is no electric kettle so even hot water, coffee or tea cannot be had when needed. Breakfast is limited with no eggs or vegetables.

Cleanliness takes a back seat and the rooms and bathrooms are not spotless. The rooms are small and smelly and water pressure in the shower is poor.

Staff is laid back and does not extend efficient help to guests in terms of taxi bookings and need for a room change.
