Positive Reviews
positive:
Remote, relaxing and scenic.
Kriunes was said to be remote and relaxing, as it is outside of Reykjavik city, but easy to reach if you have your own car and also well located for exploring — it is said to be just off the Golden Circle route. Guests reported lovely scenic surroundings and the hotel overlooks a beautiful lake away from the city lights, so it is a great aurora spotting location.
positive:
Friendly family hosts, cracking breakfast.
The hotel is family owned and guests found the staff to be friendly and very accommodating in helping book activities and giving tips and recommendations. The breakfast buffet was thought to be very good, including hot and continental it, and the home cooked meals were also thought to be worth trying at least once during your stay.
positive:
Popular facilities and services.
The generally popular Mexican-style decor, and the spacious, warm and clean rooms went down well with those who chose to stay here. Other extras were also well-received, like the hot tub and being able to rent bikes, as well as the complimentary parking and even the optional service of being woken up if the auroras happen to appear.
