Guests choose The Happy Fish essentially because it is cheap. They are, however, frequently amazed to find that the accommodation is actually quite good. The rooms are comfy, of a decent size with a large bed. There is even a small balcony! Many guests can't believe that the owners can charge so little for all that they are offering!
positive:
Great location
Guests love the location as it is not right in the noisy touristic centre yet the nightlife and the beach are within a short walk. Many are thrilled to discover a food market a minute away selling authentic cuisine at incredible prices.
positive:
Very clean
The Happy Fish is kept very clean and the rooms are regularly cleaned. Guests comment that there are no bugs or mosquitos in the rooms!

Where are the staff?
Although a 24-hour front desk is promised, many guests had difficulty finding staff when they needed them. They seem to come and go when they feel like it, which can be inconvenient when you need to check in or out! Some guests say that they are never there at all.
negative:
Can be noisy
Although in a relatively quiet part of Patong, The Happy Fish can get quite noisy for some guests. Right next to a busy junction, there is often traffic noise and music coming from taxis. Group parties can be disturbing too. Whilst this is not the fault of the hotel, better soundproofing would help. Some guests, however, comment that it is pretty quiet. The level of the noise may be dependent on which room you are in with people on the higher floors having less of a problem.
negative:
Internet intermittent
Free
Wi-Fi is supposedly available throughout. Whilst some find this to be
the case, a lot of guests have to go to the café to get a regular
connection. The strength of the connection probably varies to how
close you are to the café.
