Halfway House Inn Country Lodge is set in a lovely area. There's a small lake with a few benches just behind the hotel, which makes for a very picturesque place to sit and relax when the weather is nice.

Your tastebuds and your stomach will like it here. The breakfast is excellent, with lots of hot and cold options and a seemingly never-ending supply of toast. The evening meals too, are plentiful and very good. The Sunday carvery is especially tasty.

You'll be warmly greeted upon arrival and will be made to feel at home for the duration of your stay. If there is anything that you need help with, hotel employees will be more than willing to deal with your enquiry in an efficient and cheerful manner.

Halfway House Inn Country Lodge is close to a busy road, so if your room is facing it, you'll be subjected to the sound of the traffic, which starts first thing in the morning.

The mattresses are on the soft side, so if you prefer something firmer then you might find them a little uncomfortable.

Although the hotel is clean and tidy, it could do with a revamp, in terms of its décor. If feels rather shabby and tired, both in the guestrooms and in public areas, such as the bar and breakfast room.
