Hotel Campanile Caen Centre Gare (Caen, France)

Guests felt that they received good value for money. Rooms were well taken care of, with a nice bathroom, good air-conditioning, and perhaps best of all, efficient sound-proofing. Most guests slept peacefully here.

The castle, tower, and cathedrals were all within close proximity. Guests also liked that they could easily access nearby beaches and coastal towns, and restaurants were right outside the door. Mémorial de Caen, which commemorates WWII history and documents the battle of Normandy, was just 10 minutes away.

Despite a language barrier at times, staff did their best to be helpful and welcoming. Guests found staff to be a breath of fresh air, and would recommend this hotel based on the friendly customer service.

While not officially advertised, Inter-Hôtel De France has complimentary secured parking. Guests were thrilled to discover this, but warned that parking could be tight, and was only offered on a first come, first served basis, which meant guests returning late might have to find an alternative place to park.

Rooms were satisfactory to the majority of visitors, but some would have liked to see added amenities like tea and coffee making facilities, a small fridge, and English TV channels.

With the exception of the spacious family room, accommodation was a bit cramped by most accounts. Sloping ceilings and small windows in some rooms did little for already too small spaces, and some guests even said that it was hard to walk around, with the bed taking up most of the space.
