Positive Reviews
positive:
Great central position
While not actually in Pigeon Forge itself, guests nonetheless felt the hotel was very centrally situated. There are a number of sights scattered around the valley. Guests thought that Laurel Crest was in a very convenient position to visit many of them, whether they were using their own car or the charming trolley service.
positive:
Very well tended grounds
Guest after guest mentioned how impressed they were with the work the groundsmen were doing. They reported that the grounds looked immaculate, with hardly a blade of grass in the wrong place.
positive:
Fresh popcorn in the clubhouse
Guests loved that the staff make fresh popcorn every afternoon and place it in the clubhouse. Though a small gesture, it was one that seemed to go a long way with all the guests.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Units are exceptionally small
A number of guests were unpleasantly surprised with the size of their unit. To them it seemed that the designers had tried to cram the most possible in the least space, and did not really succeed.
negative:
Pushy sales people
Laurel Crest is part of a timeshare group which has some of its reps onsite. While not really listed as a big problem by any guests, some did say that they were at least a little pushy when it came to selling timeshare points. Guests felt they were there to relax, not to listen to a sales pitch.
negative:
Problems with ate check in
While guests may check in at any time, the regular reception is not open late at night. Guests must temporarily check in at the security center. This procedure was said to be pretty complicated and resulted in quite a bit of stress and frustration, or at any rate certainly a lot more than with a normal check in.
