About Block Island Beach House

Built in 1876 the Surf Hotel is a Victorian style hotel in Block Island filled with antiques and charm, located directly on the beach in the center of town. The Hotel lobby is filled with authentic tin ceilings, Tiffany lamps, giant chess set, piano and television. Enjoy the front deck lined with rocking chairs or sip a cocktail and watch the sunset from the deck bar facing the three mile stretch of Crescent Beach. With lovely ocean and island views the rooms are simple, clean and inviting. There is no A/C or private baths in the hotel but each room has a sink, mirror and ceiling fan. There are ample shared baths throughout the halls of every floor. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, specializing in the wide array of fresh seafood from the waters that surround the island.
