Best Western Plus Hôtel La Joliette (Marseille, France)

This hotel is a small and friendly property that feels charming and authentic. The staff are very friendly here and also speak a good level of English. Despite its petite size there is a fitness centre on-site which is available for hotel guests to use.

The hotel boasts a central location and therefore you are in walking distance to almost everything, include Vieux Port, which is the Old Port of Marseille. This beautiful location houses museums, an abbey and a historic lighthouse. It is approximately 20-minutes’ walk away from the main station or you can easily access the hotel via public transport. This is also a very handy location if you need somewhere to stay prior to a cruise and there are a couple of convenience stores in the immediate vicinity should you need to stock up on anything.

The rooms are light and tastefully decorated and the housekeeping team does a good job in keeping it spotless. The breakfast on offer at the hotel is buffet style and there is plenty to choose from, leaving you satisfied until lunchtime. The guestrooms also benefit from a safe for your valuables, a kettle and television.

The Wi-Fi here can be unreliable and this seems to stem from where exactly you are located in the property.

There is a fridge in the room which is stocked with goodies, however the prices for these are very steep and you would be better purchasing your own items and bringing them back to the hotel.

There are various room types on offer here and the cheaper ones are very small. If there are two of you staying in the room there is not much space to manoeuver and you may want to pay extra and upgrade.
