Positive Reviews
positive:
Idyllic location by the Loch.
The views from some of the rooms take in the majestic Loch Lomond and the river. With scenery like this you’d be forgiven for not leaving the hotel at all during your stay. The village itself is picturesque and quite like something from a postcard.
positive:
Lovely Scottish welcome.
The staff at the hotel extend that famous Scottish welcome to all guests and no matter what your request, they will do their very best to help you out. They are also quite cheerful and have a lot of tips and advice on the surrounding area.
positive:
Old place full of character.
This hotel is full of old world charm from the creaky floors to the steps down into some of the rooms. Some might not like it, but many feel that this just adds to the charm of this old lodge. A rustic hotel through and through.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Poor Wi-Fi access.
It’s probably worth noting that many guests that come expect to have no phone coverage so when they realize that the Wi-Fi doesn’t work as it should, they are not very happy. Expect to have no internet access and you won’t feel too disappointed.
negative:
Beds a bit small.
The beds at this hotel aren’t the biggest. It’s okay if you’re in a single bed, but the double beds are just a bit too small for an average sized couple. It’s a shame as otherwise the rooms are quite nice and well maintained.
negative:
Sloping floors.
The floors are a bit uneven, and some are even sloping. This is because of the age of the hotel, but some guests feel that it should be corrected as it makes for an uncomfortable stay especially if your bed is on an uneven floor.
