This property is located in the Moyo Island nature reserve, just east of Bali. It is right on Teluk Aqmanwana beach and there are shopping facilities in the immediate vicinity. The island lies 15 km off the coast of Sumbawa, at the western end of the Nusa Tenggara Islands, a grouping that begins with Lombok. This beach resort property comprises a total of 20 villas with stylish design and subtle coral stone decking as well as a garden and a terrace. Facilities on offer to guests include a lobby area with a 24-hour reception and 24-hour check-out service, a hotel safe, a currency exchange facility and a hairdressing salon. Younger guests can let off steam at the children's playground and there is a café, a bar, a pub and a restaurant. The feel of camp life is skilfully incorporated into luxurious tents, designed with style and subtlety on a coral stone deck. The sides of the tents are made up of walls of windows framed in teak with polished hardwood flooring and dreamy soft hues such as creams, beiges, wheat and honey. All accommodation units come with a private bathroom with a shower/bathroom and a hairdryer and offer a king-size bed. They are equipped with a direct dial telephone, satellite/ cable TV, a hifi, Internet access, a safe and a minibar. Furthermore, individually regulated air conditioning and either a balcony or a terrace are provided in all accommodation as standard.Macaque monkeys and rusa deer make morning appearances outside the large windows of Amanwana's 20 tented Suites.Cuisine : The Dining Room and Bar are located in an open-air pavilion facing the sea. Indonesian hardwood flooring and solid coconut pillars support the tropical structure. A selection of Asian and Western food is served at breakfast, lunch and dinner. In season, a regular alfresco barbecue is available as are campfire dinners on the beach or jetty. Starlight dinner cruises can also be arranged. Drinks can be taken at the teak-top bar or in the comfy loungers adjacent to the dining area. * Music Pavilion : Located at the far end of the camp, a few metres from the shoreline, the Music Pavilion is a forest sanctuary. Here, you can listen to music, order picnic lunch and a bottle of wine, enjoy afternoon tea or a sunset cocktail. * Library : The Library specialises in Indonesian art and culture, with a wide range of books on marine life. A laptop is available for Internet access. * Boardwalk : Snorkelling equipment, windsurfers, kayaks and Hobie cats are available from the thatched-roof bale close to the boardwalk. The boardwalk itself is furnished with beach chairs and shade umbrellas. A freshwater dipping pool is set against a wall of coral rock. * Dive Centre : A variety of superb dive spots are easily accessible from Amanwana. Guests can organise their underwater programme at the Dive Centre, which also offers a range of equipment. Jungle Cove Spa : The Jungle Cove Spa is just off the beach and under shady tamarind trees. Simple coral-stone walls divide the outdoor centre into three treatment areas, each including a recessed soaking tub and a shower. All face out to Amanwana Bay. Enjoy a massage, a fresh-fruit facial or a Borneo body scrub while watching the clouds gather about distant Mount Rinjani. * Gift Shop : A variety of Indonesian crafts and antiques can be found in the Gift Shop. A few Moyo-made offerings are also available. * Internet : Wireless broadband connections are available in the Library and some public areas. * Diving : Amanwana provides some of the best diving in the Indonesian archipelago and some of the top sites are less than 10 minutes away by boat. With Amanwana’s own dive operation, both beginners and experienced divers can explore the Flores Sea. Non-certified divers should bring a medical certificate, signed by a physician stating they have no medical problems. A dive instructor will guide beginners (minimum age 12 years old) through the basic theory and skills, then accompany them on a dive from the jetty along the Sea Wall. This non-certification course takes about two hours. Various PADI advanced courses are available for divers wanting to upgrade their skills and certification level. The Sea Wall, which is just in front of the jetty, is a reef wall that descends over 40m. Turtle Street is just to the right of the camp, where the coral reef drops away to a sandy slope. The most frequent visitors are hawksbill and green turtles along with moray eels, lobsters and black and white-tip reef sharks. A short boat ride away is Labuan Aji Reef which is best for wall diving. Angel reef is a small circular submerged mount that is fed by swift currents. Here one can see schools of snapper, napolean fish and reef sharks. The Medang Ribbon Reefs are untouched coral gardens while the Panjang Slope is frequented by sharks, wahoo and huge tunas. * Snorkelling : Snorkel from the jetty, next to the boardwalk, or take to the water from the beach in front of the tents. A variety of fish and coral life can be found in the bay off Amanwana. Night snorkelling is also a popular activity. Guided tours of the local reefs can be provided by Amanwana's beach boys. * Spa : The Jungle Cove Spa is just off the beach and under shady tamarind trees. Simple coral-stone walls divide the outdoor centre into three treatment areas, one double and two single rooms, each including a recessed, soaking tub and a shower.The wilderness hideaway of Amanwana sits on Moyo Island, an unspoilt nature and marine reserve to the east of Bali.
