Acqua Vatos describes itself as a family-friendly, romantic and cosmopolitan hotel all rolled into one. In the heart of Santorini, steps away from the largest and most popular black sand beach on the island, this hotel also has an outdoor swimming pool and private vineyard.
Guests can choose from economy rooms to master and family suites with plenty of space. All 32 rooms in this boutique hotel feature individually controlled air-conditioning, premium mattresses, satellite TV, daily maid service, and a balcony with table and chairs.
Renovated in 2011, Acqua Vatos delivers special touches like a complimentary welcome drink, and bedtime stories for smaller guests. A 24-hour reception and concierge service can arrange a variety of activities. Spa services and a library can also be found on-site.
Enjoy a complimentary Greek breakfast buffet, or try the pool bar or lounge.
Santorini hot spots are within walking distance of Acqua Vatos.
Guests at Acqua Vatos were in for some true fun in the sun, with a great swimming pool that many didn't want to leave. Plenty of lounge chairs, options for shade, and a regularly cleaned pool, meant that all there was left to do was to jump right in.
A great start to the day.
Many guests found the daily included breakfast to be thoughtfully prepared, with a good selection. A varied menu of Greek and American classics had at least one dish rotated daily, and many were happy to go back for seconds of the tasty cuisine.
Top notch customer service.
If friendly faces and helpful staff are important to you when staying at a hotel, you won't be disappointed with the crew at Acqua Vatos. Guests found staff to be a gold mine of information about the local area, and most importantly, they were treated like valued customers, with no request too big to handle.
Check your room size.
Room sizes vary greatly at Acqua Vatos, and guests who paid less were sometimes met with an unsatisfactory amount of space in their rooms. If you love to unpack and want to feel at home without tripping over your luggage, you may want to splurge on an upgrade to forego feeling cramped.
Hit and miss air-conditioning.
Some guests were unhappy with air-conditioning that didn't seem to be able to keep up with the heat. A few even resorted to opening their windows for a breeze. With the potentially sky high temperatures in Greece, competent air-conditioning can be crucial, and guests advised checking it before settling into your room.
No soft mattresses here.
Guests who like to sleep on a softer mattress might be disappointed by the reportedly extra firm beds at Acqua Vatos. While mattress firmness is certainly an individual preference, those with bad backs have been warned.
