Located just outside Colchester, the University of Essex offers modern en-suite accommodation set in its picturesque 200-acre beautiful parkland, the park was originally landscaped in the eighteenth century and was painted by celebrated artist John Constable. The campus is built around five compact and bustling squares and with shops, a bustling street market, restaurants, banks, a theatre and even a hair salon, it's possible to survive without ever leaving campus. The campus is located only two miles from England’s oldest recorded town. Colchester has excellent transport links and offers some of the finest leisure facilities in Eastern England. Situated on central campus, and only minutes from our buildings and facilities, our modern accommodation is the perfect choice for individual and group stays. The accommodation developments include many green and sustainable features and offers high-quality accommodation. We have a huge selection of accommodation available during the summer and can host both large and small groups. The University of Essex Colchester Campus accommodation offers both single economy and en-suite rooms. The economy rooms are arranged in flats to accommodate 14-16 guests and include shared bathroom/shower and toilet facilities. The en-suite rooms are arranged in flats of 6-14 bedrooms per floor with private bathroom/shower and toilet facilities. All rooms are provided with full bed linen and a hand and bath towel as well as a desk and free Wi-Fi. Communal areas are cleaned daily and bed linen and towels are changed once a week. The University of Essex Colchester Campus is contained over 5 squares with iconic and modern buildings to deliver exceptional facilities. The facilities are situated across state-of-the-art buildings which include lecture theatres, modern lecture rooms, studios, teaching rooms and unique creative spaces (these meetings and conferences facilities are available for hire at an additional cost and subject to availability). Most of our spaces also offer landscape views of Wivenhoe Park.
