Clean, modern rooms with a view...
Guests describe the rooms as modern, airy, and nicely decorated, with all the practical touches necessary for efficient business or leisure travel (plenty of power points, a comfortable workspace, minibar, steady free Wi-Fi). Few guests fail to mention the beautiful views from the upper floors, some of which feature landmarks such as the Cathedral of Helsinki or the 1952 Olympic stadium.
positive:
A terrific fit for the fit...
Active travellers rave about the private gym on site, often commenting on the excellent selection of weights, cardio machines, and other equipment, including an entire room dedicated to power-lifting, swimming pools, and saunas. Those who prefer to exercise outdoors (or with Fido in tow) mention the beautiful park just across the street, which offers plenty of trails and a children's playground.
positive:
Close to all of the sights...
Guests also like the convenience of hotel's location; it's about 15-20 minutes on foot from the city centre, and the route is pleasant, passing by parks and the Finlandia Hall. There's a bus and tram stop just a few steps away, as well as a Finnair shuttle bus stop. It's also very close to the Opera House, Linnemaki amusement park, National Museum, and a beach.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Nickels and dimes...
Guests generally describe the delivery charge for room service as "shocking," and some report that the extra fee to upgrade to Club Level is also too high, due to the limited amenities in the lounge.
negative:
Errors and omissions...
Though the staff receive largely positive reviews, unfortunate housekeeping issues are occasionally reported, and some guests have encountered unsmiling or unaccommodating reception personnel as well.
negative:
A long walk back...
Drivers are annoyed to find that the underground parking garage is not connected to the rest of the building by an elevator.
