Civitel Akali Hotel (Chania, Greece)

The hotel is well-situated as you can easily get to the local transportation, especially the busses. There are good shops in the area and you can easily walk to  number of the towns tourist sites and attractions.The old town is just five minutes away. You can also walk to the port.

The breakfast is tasty and varied each day. The produce the restaurant uses is all locally sourced and fresh, it is prepared tastefully and everything is full of flavour. There is a good selection of fresh fruits, pastries and coffee on offer. The restaurant staff are efficient and they make sure to look after your every need.

The hotel staff are very friendly and you are welcomed warmly. The staff are hard-working and nothing is too much for them to do for you. The staff have good advice on places to go and things to do whilst staying at the hotel.

Guests have reported that the air-conditioning units are not up to standard. They are noisy which can be quite irritating during the day and may cause you trouble whilst trying to sleep. The units do not regulate the room temperature and so the rooms are hot and stuffy.

The guest rooms need to be soundproofed. The walls are paper-thin and so you can hear the guests in the neighbouring rooms as well as those walking through the hotel corridors. Some guests have reported that they were unable to sleep as they were kept up by the sounds of other guests in the hotel.

Some of the rooms at the hotel have been renovated but many of them are very outdated. The furniture is old and the carpets are stained and threadbare in some areas. The walls need to be repainted and the general hotel decor needs to be updated.
