Overlooking the Troodos Mountains, this tiny village is a tranquil retreat from the busy resorts such as Paphos. Kykkos Monastery is a short drive away. The value received in the hotel and in neighbouring tavernas is incredibly good. Also incredible, in winter, is the fact that you can spend the morning sunbathing in Paphos - or another resort - and late afternoon in skiing country surrounded by snow. Just incredible!
Management and staff are genuinely very friendly (*this is a trait throughout the island) and they'll do all they can to make your stay memorable.
Rooms are clean and comfortable and most have a balcony with fabulous views. On a practical note, the Wi-Fi signal is generally excellent and the value, in the hotel and in neighbouring restaurants and tavernas, is as impressive as the views from the hotel terrace.
Heating only seems to come on at designated times … come what may! This might be a factor in the dodgy supply of hot water. This is far from reliable.
In this highly personalised and very friendly hotel ( one that distinguishes itself - and wins hands down - over those corporate chains), it seems very strange that buffet food is served in plastic containers. Why would they want to do that?
It doesn't seem fair to criticise the rooms ... when the ‘backdrop' views are so sensational, they are superior to almost any accommodation choice. Here goes, anyway! … There's nothing dramatically wrong but there is an air of out datedness throughout. Furniture has seen better days, but those days are better than those endured by the mattresses.
