About Gentarrubia
Situated in a lovingly refurbished family home, Gentarrubia is a luxury B&B a few miles south of Cagliari.
Rooms are sleek and modern, and each has been individually decorated. They feature air conditioning, minibar, flat screen TV and in-room safe. Wi-Fi is available as well.
The lovely outdoor pool and gardens are ideal in the warm Sardinian summer, while the B&B also features a sensual indoor pool and small spa area to arouse the senses in the cooler months.
Breakfast is served on the property daily, while host Pasqualle will be more than happy to give you his recommendations for good spots for lunch or dinner.
Cagliari Airport is a 14-mile drive form Gentarrubia B&B, while Sardinia’s famous Chia Beach, with its crystal clear water, is less than 23 miles drive to the south. The incredible Tharros ruins are certainly worth a visit, and are a 1.5 hour drive from the B&B.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Perfect host and friendly staff
Guests repeatedly mention how helpful not only their host, Pasqualle, was, but the whole staff. This is a small establishment, and it seems all the staff pull in the same direction to make sure that their guests receive the best possible service.
positive:
Beautiful garden and pool
Aside from the host and staff, probably the most mentioned point is how wonderful guests found it just to be able to relax by the pool and gardens. Especially in summer, many were relived to be able to come back from a long hot day of sightseeing and take a quick dip in the lovely pool.
positive:
Rooms are newly refurbished
Guests comment that, while they didn't know whether there had been a recent renovation, their rooms looked like they had just been redone. They liked that they didn't have to contend with broken or scuffed furniture and appliances.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Breakfast a little sparse
Though not a universal sentiment, quite a few guests were thoroughly unimpressed with the breakfast served at Gentarrubia. They found it to be sparse and a fairly perfunctory affair.
negative:
Some rooms may be pretty small
There were some fairly mixed reviews on room size, with some saying theirs was far too small and others saying theirs was spacious. As is typical in B&B's it seems that rooms in the same “class” are of varying sizes. Guests who appreciate their space should try to confirm beforehand what sort of room they will be in.
negative:
A bit remote if you don't have a car
Though guests are universally complimentary of the B&B grounds themselves, the fact is that they are in a pretty standard suburban area, with no real attractions in the immediate area. To really get the most out of a visit a car would be essential.
